Visual artist born (1946) and living in Paris, his work focuses on a roundabout but ingenious use of everyday materials. He transforms them into furniture, sculpture, jewelry, or installations to create what he calls a "dream detonator". Textile sculptures, ink drawings, tactile or multi-sensory installations, Christian Astuguevieille appears as a touch to everything in artistic creation. In his studio at the Galerie Vivienne in Paris or next to the Jardin du Palais Royal, he always carries a notebook in his pocket to draw and capture the fleeting moments that feed his inspiration.
Trained as a teacher, he has always been interested in the sensory, hence the importance of touch in his creations. His artistic training allows him to produce very different works and opens the doors to many exhibitions and collaborations. In 2012, he was preparing an interactive exhibition on the five senses at the Museum of Art and Industry in Roubaix. He is one of the first to define the Artistic Direction within prestigious houses such as Molinard, Rochas, Nina Ricci or Hermès and some sixty perfumes are produced for the perfume brand '' Comme des Garçons '' as director. creative. From the 80s his work turned to an imaginary civilization, giving birth to collections of objects and furniture inspired by world cultures and exhibited internationally in many museums and galleries, thus giving his universe more dreamlike.
