Jimmy Delatour’s first collection ‘Concrete Absolution’, featuring a chaise longue, a table, a coffee table and four candlesticks is a tribute to architecture, man and modernism.
A tool of a revolution that has enabled man to construct, refashion and reinvent his housing, concrete is synonymous with new artistic freedom and great aspirations.
Although it has enabled a new page in the history of the 20th century to be written concrete is often condemned. By virtue of these pieces of furniture, veritable microarchitectures with a deliberately rough appearance, like extensions of structures that surround us, Jimmy Delatour calls for reconciliation with concrete, to free it from its accompanying prejudices.
Forms with very radical design and pure lines projecting the material to the forefront, assumed mass and volumes, enhanced with brass or combined with glass.
This collection produced in high performance concrete resonates with man’s will to be reinvented and endure in his environment.
